Quarterback Jonathan Crompton will start for Tennessee this week at Vanderbilt, UT coach Phillip Fulmer said Sunday evening in his weekly teleconference.
Crompton is 80-for-158 passing (51 percent) for 788 yards with three touchdowns and four interceptions in six games this season. He started UT's first four games before giving way to sophomore Nick Stephens following UT's 14-12 loss at Auburn in September.
Stephens, who had started the last six games, will begin the week as UT's No. 3 quarterback behind Crompton and redshirt freshman B.J. Coleman.
"Right now, Jon will be the starting quarterback and we will continue to look at B.J. along the way and then go from there," Fulmer said.
Tennessee (3-7, 1-5 SEC) faces Vanderbilt (6-4, 4-3) Saturday at 12:30 p.m. (TV: WVLT).
